Previously, she was Senior Associate Editor at The Indian Express and Director and Editor-in-Chief of Women’s Feature Service, a Delhi-based women's news syndicate. Her satirical column, Straight Face ran in The Indian Express for a decade. She is the author of Media’s Shifting Terrain:Five Years that Transformed the Way India Communicates and Laugh All the Way to the Vote Bank, and has co-edited Across the Crossfire:Women and Conflict in India and Women’s Employment: Work in Progress. She began her career with The Times of India.
